Straits View Hotel

Liked Clean, large rooms at a very good price. Within walking distance of a new shopping mall. Good view from room looking across the strait. Bed was way too hard, making sleeping difficult. The next day we both had sore shoulders, hips and backs. Ironically this meant we had to stay in our room to recover, sitting up on the hard bed and waiting until we limbered up enough to walk.

Liked The room smells of moth balls and rhe furniture is dated. No toothbrush provided. Only all in one soap.

Liked When I arrived, I asked the receptionist if there are any rooms available for the night. He told me straight face ''sorry we are fully booked out''... I recalled earlier, before I went to the hotel, I have checked on Expedia site, that there were still rooms available. Then I walked outside the hotel and check again on Expedia. I saw there were rooms available, so I booked it and paid for it online. Then after receiving the confirmation, I return to the reception and told the receptionist that I have a booking and showed my booking number. The receptionist immediately change his tone and told me he could still get me a room, but they are over booked. A liar.
