Liked Spent 4 wonderful days at the grand continental Hotel . The location is just the right distance away from the busy city area . The room was spacious with a comfortable bed and a great Airconditioner . The reception staff Shirley . Robert ,Eryanna & Natasha were fabulous helping you with any enquies you may have had to make your stay a very pleasant experience well done see you soon. David
Liked We were initially booked into the Sheraton in Kuching, as we decided to treat ourselves. However, there had been issues with comms, and we wanted to ensure a pool was available for us. Whilst in Malaysia, we actually cancelled the Sheraton and booked this option for a fraction of the cost. I have given it 4 out of 5, with the following caveat. 1: Yes, it is very tired, the rooms have been grand but are no longer. However, our room, 1104 - was clean, the bed was huge, it was quiet, there was limited English TV but a wheeze to watch and there was a working fridge. 2: We asked for an extra pillow and was told it would be 10 ringits charge - don't be tight people, that amount is not worth asking for, but it becomes a principle thing. 3: Pool was fantastic for us - however: a: don't clean it in the height of the day. Do it when it is quieter. b: supervise it better, there was a czech group in, who were very friendly but were drinking spirits and beer in the pool and smoking - in the smoking area, but don't know if that is because we obviously didn't smoke. c: pool towels (free) were actually better option and fluffier than room towels 4: Staff friendly especially the concierge

Liked I only ended up here when Agoda cancelled 2 bookings at 2 different preferred hotels. I put up this review on Agoda, it looks like they didn't approve it. I hope other travellers would benefit from this review from my recent stay. 1. Positives: The room is spacious and it is a building on its own. The water pressure is great. 2. Negatives: The room smells of roaches. The hallway smells of damp carpet. The plumbing causes for the bathroom to be wet at all times. Water was yellow-ish. 3. Improvements: It needs complete refurbishment.
Liked This hotel should go for major renovation. Roof leaking, tv screen snowing, breakfast can be better, only good point is the staff is helpful
