Disliked I had a disappointing experience at Emerald Homestay. The host requested my IC number, stating it was required for app registration, yet there was no proper security check upon arrival, which raised concerns about the purpose of collecting such personal information. Collecting the key was inconvenient, as I had to go down to the lowest ground level, which was not user-friendly. I also tried contacting the host a day before my stay to discuss a few matters, but my call was not answered, although they did respond via WhatsApp. The building itself appears quite old, and the cleanliness of the unit was below expectations. The kitchen wall was noticeably darkened, and the toilet walls were dirty, indicating poor cleaning standards. On a positive note, the basic facilities such as the bed, sofa, and television (with YouTube access) were satisfactory. Towels were provided, and there was a fan available, although it was quite old. Overall, the stay lacked proper maintenance, cleanliness, and convenience.
