Lovely old traditional hut house with friendly staffs. Exactly what you see in pictures

Liked Staff was very friendly and helpful. We had dinner at Nam restaurant and the food was amazing. Breadfast was good especially with fresh fruits daily. My son fell ill towards the end of the trip and Celine offered help to us with clinic advice. They always catered to our needs, so Thank you.

Disliked When it rained, parts of the roof was leaking so I was a bit worried about it, but the staff do try and help out by placing buckets around the areas.

Liked We particularly loved that this resort had none of the flashy newness of other resorts which transport western interiors into oriental environments... instead these malay stilt houses are kept as close to original as possible frills or not. Hence the traditional feel mixed with a boho vibe of decoration that worked really well. The staff were all helpful, friendly and positive at all times. The wildlife of squirrels, huge butterflies, frogs and geckos combined with sightings of black monkey, large lizard in pond and eagles... all wonderful. Magical call to prayer starting at 5am echoing across the land. ( The people who complain in their reviews) about this 'noise' really should stay home and keep watching television. Seriously. Nothing like a combination of all of these to make one truly feel on holiday. Add to that the fabulous food in the restaurant... for us it was a perfect place to unwind for 6 days.. A trip to town for a day just underlined how great Le Bon Ton was with its complex of library, reading room, music room, art and lack of hassle. Great concept.

Disliked Very little. Hot water in the basin in bathroom would be useful. Breakfast in room was lovely but somewhat erratic in size and the added sugar could be toned down... More food could be good.

I really hope the resort can do something to eliminates lizards (cicak) in the house + pest control

Liked The traditional Malay houses are so beautiful, unique and preserved in its original condition.

Disliked Lizards on the house especially at night. I was bitten by woodlice on my last night of stay…

Full of old world Malaysian charm but also old world construction.

Liked These are quirky accommodations. 350 years old so be prepared for the occasional issue. The air conditioning was not great and is supplemented with ceiling fans which increases the noise level. However, if you stayed at similar accommodation in Malaysia before and enjoyed their rustic charm (as we have), they could be for you. Food is excellent and the staff were wonderful, nothing was too much for them.

Disliked See above.
