Overpriced, dirty, smelly and tired

Disliked Upon arrival, the apartment had a distinct toilet smell. Living in Asia, I know the difference between mould, and drainage problems. When I contacted the owner, she suggested I open the windows. Unfortunately, only one opened and a hard to move sliding door. The smell would not go. The apartment's walls and windows are dirty and it needs renovating for the price that is being charged. Two air-conditioners didn't work. The owner claimed she had no spare places and then, after a bit of to and fro, miraculously found me another. This place was an improvement. It was freshly renovated, but the smell of paint and mothballs was overwhelming. She then wanted to charge more for "the consequences of changing " apartments. The complex is old and tired. We paid less in KL for a modern place in the city centre. Overall, I appreciate that we were moved, but the whole thing dampened my enjoyment of a beautiful city. This is the first bad review I've had to write, and it disappoints me to do so, but beware.

Liked The location is central which makes it easier to go around Melaka and the parking provided helps a lot in terms of in and out of the unit. The unit is clean and host is very friendly and give clear instructions.
